Bridgestone Riders Score Big In San Diego
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 13, 2003) -- Bridgestone rider Chad Reed earned a decisive victory in the AMA 250cc Supercross competition at San Diego Feb. 8, while his Factory Yamaha teammate David Vuilleman, the “Flying Frenchman,” placed second. Reed’s impressive riding in front of 67,000 fans in Qualcomm stadium brought him within five points of the series lead.

Team Kawasaki rider James Stewart, also on Bridgestone tires, ended the Western Regional 125cc class supercross event in San Diego with a first place finish and now has 147 points to lead the series. The win was Stewart’s fifth this year in the 125cc class. Bob Graham, Manager of Bridgestone/Firestone Motorcycle and Kart programs, said the results “provide a strong statement about the performance characteristics of Bridgestone motorcycle tires.”

“Bridgestone is the exclusive tire supplier for Factory Kawasaki, Factory Yamaha, Pro-Circuit and Amsoil Honda supercross teams, and our tires are demonstrating great strength in competition,” Graham said. “We’re very pleased with the recent wins and with the way the season is shaping up for Bridgestone riders. In all events conducted thus far, our tires have provided the consistent grip and durability needed to be competitive. We believe there are many more wins in store for the Bridgestone-equipped riders.”
