Stewart Hands Bridgestone Another Supercross Championship “We’re thrilled to take this prestigious title again, and to be involved with James and his team,” said Bob Graham, manager of motorcycle and karting programs for Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire, LLC. “James is an incredibly talented young man who rides right out to the edge, trusting his Bridgestone tires to give him the performance he needs. We’re proud to contribute to his success this year, and look forward to seeing him collect many more victories in the future.” In addition to claiming the 125cc Western Region Championship, the Bridgestone program also enjoyed a victory in the 250cc THQ AMA Supercross event at Texas Stadium April 12. Yamaha rider Chad Reed took his fourth consecutive win for the Bridgestone Motorsport program and moved within 13 points of first place in the season championship battle. “There are two rounds remaining in the 250cc competition, so we remain optimistic about collecting another title there,” Graham said. “We’ve earned five 250cc crowns in the last six years and would like to claim another in 2003.” Previous AMA 125cc Western Region Supercross Champions on Bridgestone tires include Kevin Windham (1996, ’97), John Dowd (’98), Nathan Ramsey (’99), Shae Bentley (2000) and Travis Preston (2002).
